Here it is all you 470 owners! A keypad mod to extend the RX range of the 470
to 500Mhz !  I don't take credit for this however.  Darrell Sego KM9S got this
and KB9BVN posted it on UNIX.  It works great!

1. Program 450.000 simplex into vfo.

2. Press Function key (FM) and then press RPT key for the offset.

3. Enter the code 0000.

4. Turn the radio off and then back on.

5. Press the RPT key twice to set + offset.

6. Press REV button once.

7. Radio should now display 1450 Mhz (although it cant rx that high).

8. Hit FM and then the down arrow to lower the frequency until it gets to 500
Mhz.

Note only go down in freq. If you press the up arrow the radio will go back to 
normal mode and you'll have to start over.

9. Enter this freq. into the U memory (Upper).  To do this hold the FM key down
for about 3 seconds and then select the memory channels until 'U' is displayed.
Then press the FM key again to store it.

10. You can now store your favorite freqs into memories by going to the U mem
then pressing the MR key. Then use the down arrow key only. If you pass the freq
you want you will have to start back at the begining of this step.

Note some radios may let you use you Up key to selct the frequency .
