TM742.3 I have installed this modification in 2 TM-741's. Since the 742 uses the same band modules, the mod is the same. One must use really thin stuff to do it. Also, in my installations, I routed the coax lead out the hole and plug where the power cord would come in on the 440 module. About 12" of coax,RG-8 or thinner, is needed. About 5" will be inside the radio, 4" will be hanging out the back, and the rest will be absorbed in making the connections. Look on the center-right of the PC board for the pads labelled "800". The pad that goes to "pin 1" of an "IC" to the right of the pad is the center of the coax. The other pad is ground and goes to the shield. To activate the mod, hit the MHZ button in the 440Mhz VFO for more than 1 second and it should change over to 850.0000Mhz. Push and hold again to return to 440. Note that it is possible to store a 440tx/900rx pair in a memory location, but not the call channel. \\\//// ( O O ) +----+oOOO+---(_)---+OOOo-----+ | K | D | 6 | K | G | Z | +----+----+----+----+----+----+ __/ / \ \__ (___| |___)
